A while back I got into an online discussion with several people about safety in Thailand versus safety in the Philippines. One person believed the Philippines was far safer than Thailand and numerous others tried to set him straight. I was one of those people. I believed Thailand to be quite a bit safer than the Philippines and in this podcast, I'll go over the facts. Which country is safer, Thailand or the Philippines? Then just to spice it up, I throw Cambodia into the mix.

Lonely Planet came out with several lists on the top countries of the world, and then the BBC came out with the top seven retirement destinations. You might be surprised at which countries are and are not on these lists. Also, a man writes in asking what I think on his girlfriend; seems she might be a he and he's unsure of how to find out and what to do.
One hundred and ninety Muslim employees at a beef processing plant in Fort Morgan, Colorado have been fired for failing to report to work, reportedly due to a prayer dispute. Eleven of the employees fired initially requested to take their prayer break together. When their supervisor told them to take their breaks at different times in smaller groups, they agreed to do so, however, once the day was over, they decided to protest by refusing to show for work. Other employees followed suit, and eventually, 190 of the employees, all of whom are from Somalia, decided not to show for work for the next three days. The company, Cargill Meat Solutions, claims the employees were terminated because they violated their "No Call, Now Show," policy.
The terminated employees are now filing for unemployment benefits. ![]()
