Say what you will about Starbucks,
they make coffee right.
Serving Lousy Coffee is Sacrilegious!

My desire for a proper Espresso may come off as whiny, self-indulgent, or spoiled, but I'm paying, and thus I expect to get what I pay for. If I order an Espresso, that's what I want. When I order an Espresso, especially early in the morning, and I get something else, it's like expecting a beautiful woman to walk thru the door and instead you catch a bomb thrown by Mike Tyson. Perhaps a slight exaggeration, but hopefully you get the point! Say what you will about Starbucks (expensive), they know how
to make coffee properly. After bitching and moaning about the crappy Espresso I've received the past few days, I decided to go someplace I knew I would get my Espresso done right. I needed to go to the post office, so on my way home, I stopped by Starbucks at Vejthani Hospital, right next to our old home, and had an Espresso. Was it as good as the coffee I had in Colombia? Hell no. But it was good enough to appease me, and most importantly, they didn't serve my Espresso in a huge coffee mug!

As a frequent customer at this particular Starbucks, I asked the manager of the store why she thought so many small coffee shops just couldn't get their coffee right. Her answer, "Lack of training and standards." Starbucks doesn't serve the best coffee but they make a decent cup and their coffee is always the same. If for some reason they get it wrong, they'll make you a new cup.  That's all anyone can really ask.

Lets not be so narrow as to specify "espresso" but com'on, life is just now worth living without a good coffee from time to time. Not needed everyday but without the prospect of finding a really good coffee .... well life is just a sad existence.

The pleasure when you find a really good coffee !

Espresso just happens to be my coffee of choice. My wife makes me Gold coffee every morning...when you expect a good coffee and then you're served shit, it's frustrating.

Starbucks suck but the problem is 95% of Thais just don't understand what is "coffee". How can you make coffee if you don't understand what you are making. But as you know, you can get good coffee in Thailand, I got great espresso from a cart in Phuket and Soi8 is a coffee friendly location.

Just remember how nice it is to get a good coffee ... and every disappointment makes the next good one even better.

I don't have a problem with Starbucks coffee, although all of their products are way overpriced. It's not fantastic but it's decent. That's good enough here.
