Nearly four years ago, Alex, Nicholas and I visited the Batcat Toy Museum. The place is only about ten minutes from our house so it seemed a shame not to go. Basically, the Batcat Toy Museum is just a huge warehouse full of toys divided into two sections and two floors. Batman, Superman, Ironman, the Incredible Hulk, you name a superhero or cartoon figure and this place has it. Lunch boxes, figurines, toys, the Batcat Toy Museum is a one of a kind destination. Watch the video for further details.
Next week's Flashback Friday has to do with food, Paella to be specific. If you don't know what Paella is, it's a yellow rice dish with peppers and shrimp and clams and anything else the chef feels like throwing in. At Chatuchak Market, near Gate 2, there's a large, happy Spanish chef who no doubt is proud of his Paella. Each bowl runs 150 baht or approximately $4.50.
Just an FYI - I'm in the process of updating this site. The theme is a bit restrictive so I am fiddling around with new themes and layouts to allow me to easily update the site. Between updating social media, shooting video and photos, live streaming, working on my health and spending time with my family, time has been limited. I am now making time for this site, as I should have done months ago, and I should have it updated by the end of this month.
As some of you may know, Alex took up the guitar about a year ago. He seems to have a knack for the instrument and most importantly, he enjoys playing. For the past few weeks, Yod, his instructor, has been away playing some gigs so Alex has had little time with him. I also have been away and busy and haven't went to his practice sessions for nearly two months. Alex likes to practice late at night, when everyone is asleep, so he turns down the amp and puts on headphones or plays the acoustic guitar. He doesn't like me asking him, "When was the last time you practiced," or "Have you been practicing," and he almost always tells me, "Listen whenever I play in front of you and then you'll know." In the 6 - 8 weeks since I've seen him play, he seems to have jumped up a level or two. His playing is definitely not perfect, but he's at the point where he can figure out how to play whatever it is he wants to play. He's playing a couple of songs at The Mall Bangkapi in a few weeks and while one or two of the songs are Thai songs, another of the songs is by Oasis. I didn't even know he knew of Oasis. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the video.
