Amazon Shipments In To Thailand

Ever purchased from Amazon and had your order shipped to Thailand? If you're lucky, your package will make it in to the country in short time and zero duties will be assessed. Most of the time though, you'll pay a premium for the shipping and duties will be assessed. Get your item through Lazada or Shopee however and you may receive your order—sans duties—faster and for less. Sounds good, right?

I usually only order from Lazada or Shopee for items under $15-$20. Say what you will about Amazon but I have more trust in them than Lazada or Shopee. That trust means paying higher shipping costs and duties plus you run the risk of getting hassled by Thai customs. Also, just because what you want is on Amazon doesn't mean they'll ship the item to you in Thailand.

The bottom line is you need to do your due diligence. This means checking around to see if you might be able to get what you want inside of Thailand. If not, allow more time to receive your order, be prepared to pay more for what you want or to be told "Sorry, can not" and then have to look elsewhere.
