Fast food is rarely exciting. However, when it comes to getting Mexican food in Bangkok, options are limited. Sure, there are a few places, but Taco Bell has always been one of my favorite fast food establishments. I've never been much of a fast food fan, but Taco Bell is decent Mexican food. It'll never be fantastic like old lady Esperanza's tamales back in El Monte, but it hits the spot nevertheless. This was my second trip to Taco Bell here in Bangkok. I went to their first location on Sukhumvit Road a few months ago and it was like seeing an old friend after many years. This time, I initially thought I was going to the second Taco Bell in the W District of Phra Khanong. Actually, there are now nine locations in Bangkok and this was numero nueve (nine). The food was as expected. As always, it delivered a solidly decent, hearty meal; two soft tacos and one beefy cheese burrito. I'll be back. Ever purchased from Amazon and had your order shipped to Thailand? If you're lucky, your package will make it in to the country in short time and zero duties will be assessed. Most of the time though, you'll pay a premium for the shipping and duties will be assessed. Get your item through Lazada or Shopee however and you may receive your order—sans duties—faster and for less. Sounds good, right? I usually only order from Lazada or Shopee for items under $15-$20. Say what you will about Amazon but I have more trust in them than Lazada or Shopee. That trust means paying higher shipping costs and duties plus you run the risk of getting hassled by Thai customs. Also, just because what you want is on Amazon doesn't mean they'll ship the item to you in Thailand. The bottom line is you need to do your due diligence. This means checking around to see if you might be able to get what you want inside of Thailand. If not, allow more time to receive your order, be prepared to pay more for what you want or to be told "Sorry, can not" and then have to look elsewhere. |
