In yesterdays White House press conference, female reporter Youyou Wang from the Hong Kong Phoenix TV was called on by President Trump. She asked several questions of President Trump. When he asked her what organization she was with, she said HK Phoenix TV. When he proceeded to ask her if it was state owned, she said “No, it’s private.” Actually, it’s only partially private. She lied. As someone representing her organization in the White House, she absolutely had to know it is a state run news agency. According to pro-democracy think tank Freedom Watch, Hong Kong Phoenix TV is owned by state run China Mobile, it is also predominantly owned by today's Asia Ltd, with a 93.6% stake held by Liu Chang Le. The organization is deemed “typically favorable” to the Chinese government. Another think tank, Hoover, labeled them semi-official Chinese media outlet.
