Ted is just Ted; Tip is just Tip, Mint is just Mint. What country they hail from is immaterial.
In the beginning of the video Ted makes the comment that when someone needs you, you feel obliged to take care of her. Some might call this codependent. When you feel obliged to take care of a prostitute, I call this the Captain Save-a-Whore syndrome.
Mistake #1 - trying to save a woman. Ted is no Richard Gere and Tip is no Julia Roberts - this isn’t a movie, it’s real life.
He says he knew something wasn’t right and he knew he was being conned, yet instead of trusting his intuition, he proceeded and got screwed over.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
will take me around the world, however it could be 6 - 12 months before it takes off. For the past year, I have been contemplating several photojournalism projects. Five projects/ expeditions to be exact. They've been sitting on the back burner for far too long and I'm getting restless. So I've decided to walk from the southern most city of Thailand (Betong) to the northern most city (Mae Sai). The walk should take me a little over two months.
This brings me to my reasons for taking the trip:
Check Back Every So Often
Of course I will benefit from this journey but hopefully, those who read this blog and watch my videos will benefit too. At least, that's the plan. In the next few days I'll be adding a list of the gear I'll be taking with me (as little as possible) and the route I'll be taking.
As of now, it looks like I'll start the trip around the third week of July. This gives me seven weeks to prepare myself physically and mentally. With a little luck I'll complete the journey in two months and be back in time for when my sons start their school break.
It may take a month or two to learn the ropes but it is definitely possible. That said, being capable of living off $500 (14,500) a month does not necessarily mean you can live like a VIP in Thailand or even that it is truly enough.
How do I now? Because I have lived on the cheap ($1000 for three months) and I have lived here lived like a VIP. I have stayed in penthouse suites for weeks at a time with a fat expense account, and gone to expensive restaurants and massage parlors. $500 might cover two days and nights of a VIP lifestyle, at best.
the mall. She sits on the ground near the sidewalk in front of The Mall and sells different types of eggs and sticky rice. I noticed she had a couple of banana leafs with sticky rice and banana inside of them so I had to but two. The sticky rice with banana or khao niao gluay (ข้าวเหนียวกล้วย) must have been sitting on the grill for too long as it was overcooked, but it was still delicious.
