Unfortunately, every single shop was closed. Instead of finding a hot meal, I found a dead dog. For whatever reason, I started pressing the shutter button. Then I went upstairs and found a miniature Thai village. I kept snapping shots. Hunger eventually won out and I decided to head back to the main street to get a bite to eat and decide whether to go home or elsewhere.
I walked by an elderly lady potting plants. I pushed the shutter button. I kept walking and found a small Mom and Pop restaurant. I ordered some noodles and scarfed them down. Those were 35 baht plus 10 baht for a bottle of water.
I jumped in a taxi and hit the mall. It was just opening. I needed coffee and a place to cool down. I say down at the Amazon Cafe, ordered a double espresso for 70 baht and relaxed. Thirty minutes later, I walked across the street to Happyland, took some more photos, then grabbed a Songthaew and headed home. That cost me another 6 baht. Breakfast, a double espresso, transportation to and from the market, and a bottle of water, all for under ten bucks. I've done better and I've done worse.
The breakdown of my spending:
Songthaew to Ladprao Rd - 6 baht
Taxi to Talad Nam Kwan Riam - 90 baht
Breakfast - Pad See Ew and a bottle of water - 45 baht
Taxi to The Mall Bangkapi from Talad Nam Kwan Riam - 90 baht
Double Espresso at the Amazon Cafe - 70 baht
Songthaew from Happyland (across the street from The Mall Bangkapi) to my doorstep - 6 baht
Total = 307 baht (2 baht remaining)
